LikiLikiTours is a personal, independently-run travel blog. This site earns a small commission through affiliate links (see "Affiliate Disclosure" below) — that is the only commercial activity conducted through this site. There are no products sold directly, no display advertising, and no sponsored posts beyond ordinary affiliate links.

Online dispute resolution: the European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR) at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged to, and do not, participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board — if a dispute arises, please contact us directly first using the details above.

What We Don't Do

Before the specifics below, a few things worth stating plainly:

• We do not use Google Analytics, Plausible, or any other analytics or visitor-tracking service.

• We do not run display advertising, and we do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

• We do not have a newsletter or mailing list.

• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

• We do not embed social-media "like"/follow widgets that track you across other sites.

Hosting & Server Data

This website is self-hosted on a virtual server provided by Hetzner Online GmbH, a hosting company operating within the European Union. No data processed by this website leaves EU servers as part of our hosting infrastructure.

Like virtually all websites, the underlying web server may temporarily log basic technical information for every request — such as IP address, requested page, browser/user-agent, and timestamp — purely for security and stability purposes (e.g. detecting abuse). These technical logs are not linked to any personal profile.

Comments

You can leave comments on blog posts. To do so, you create a lightweight account with just a username and password — we deliberately do not collect or require an email address for commenting, and there is no password-recovery flow that would need one.

When you submit a comment, or register or log in, we additionally store your IP address and browser user-agent string alongside that submission. This is used exclusively to detect spam/abuse (e.g. rate-limiting repeated registration or login attempts) and is never shown publicly. Your chosen username, and your comment text once approved, are shown publicly.

Legal basis: creating an account and posting a comment is processed under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (necessary to provide the feature you requested); IP/user-agent logging for spam prevention is processed under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in keeping the site free of spam and abuse).

New comments start in a "Pending" state and are reviewed before appearing publicly. You can delete your own comments at any time while logged in. To delete your account entirely, contact us using the details above.

Cookies

This site uses exactly one cookie: a login/session cookie ("commenter_token"), set only if you register or log in to comment. It simply keeps you logged in for up to 30 days and carries no advertising or tracking information. Because it is strictly necessary for that one function — unlike analytics or advertising cookies — it does not legally require prior consent under the ePrivacy rules. If you never register or log in, no cookie is ever set for you.

We show a cookie-settings banner on your first visit anyway, for transparency and so you have explicit control. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) and can be changed anytime via "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. We only link to products or services related to the travel content we've actually written about.

We also call one server-side-only third-party service: Frankfurter.app, a free currency-conversion API used to convert trip expense amounts to EUR. This request happens directly between our server and theirs and does not transmit any visitor-identifying information.

Data Retention

We keep comment and account data for as long as your account or comment exists on the site. There's currently no automatic deletion schedule for older data — if you'd like your data removed, just contact us and we'll take care of it.

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
